HOLBROOK — Council on Aging approves FY27 budget of $300,000 and authorizes hiring for two vacant coordinator positions. Susan Murray was unanimously re-elected Chair, with Debbie Hunter as Vice Chair and Marion Rapoza continuing as Treasurer. Director Holly Rose reported that staff member Denise has been approved to increase hours and assume the Principal Clerk role.
Rose submitted two federal grant applications requesting $5 million to demolish the Kennedy School, remediate asbestos, and build a new multiuse facility housing an expanded COA, with matching funds under review through the USDA. Senator Keenan allocated $70,000 in the Fair Share Supplemental budget for an ADA-accessible minivan, expected in late June or early July.
